Job Title:  DoD, Systems Administrator


Location:  Ft. Meade, MD

Security Clearance:  Top Secret  or Secret w/ SSBI

 

Certification:  IA Level II  (Security+), ITIL Foundations

 

Shift: Panama Schedule; shift rotation

Job Responsibilities

  • Serves as the initial point of contact for troubleshooting hardware/software PC problems
  • Provides phone support to users in the areas of e-mail/exchange, print services, directories, standard Windows desktop applications, chat, and SharePoint
  • Provides 2nd level support for DNS, Group Policies, Domain Services, Database Servers, VOIP, XMPP, McAfee Anti-Virus, ACAS, vCenter, WSUS, SolarWinds, and File Servers
  • Provides 2nd level support for routers, switches, firewalls, and network infrastructure
  • Scanning DISA's Global Ticketing Management System (GTMS) looking for tickets assigned to us to work. GTMS is an implementation of the Remedy trouble ticket system.
  • Answering trouble calls from Tier I organizations and making new trouble tickets in GTMS if necessary
  • Compiling analysis of trouble tickets to provide monthly trending reports
  • Monitoring status of open tickets and reporting progress at the weekly operations meeting with the customer
  • Building briefing slides concerning trouble ticket progress as required
  • Ensuring trouble tickets are assigned to a specialist to work
  • Follow processes for providing access to lab equipment
  • Candidate will be trained for basic system administration duties in anticipation of taking on more technical assignments
  • 24 by 7 call center support using a Panama Schedule

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+  years of experience within military/DoD IT system administration
  • IA Level II  (Security+)
  • Top Secret or  Secret w/ SSBI
  • IT certification – CCNA, CCNT or other MicroSoft/OS or CISCO certs

Desired Qualifications

  • ITIL V3 Foundations certificate  (must obtain within 90 days of start)

Security Clearance

  • Top Secret or Secret with SSBI
