Job Responsibilities

  • The IT Business Process and Configuration Manager will be responsible for reviewing processes, resources, and all aspects of operations to make recommendations for improvements to increase productivity and reduce costs. 
  • Implements commercial best practices (ITIL, ISO, CMMI, Six Sigma, etc.) to maximize operational effectiveness.
  • Researches new technologies and other capabilities, makes recommendations for implementation.

  • Conducts inventory analysis and resource planning for full lifecycle accountability including: inventory management, technical re-freshes, software updates, version control implementation, and standardization across the Command.

  • Evaluates the current environment, gathers needs, and proposes a recommended CM solution.

  • Define and design CM standards for all technologies

  • Define manageable CM processes (check-out/check-in, merge, build, re-lease, etc.) and implement them.

  • Install CM technology based on needs and to integrate the CM technology with other technologies (development IDEs, defect tracking, etc.).

  • Review major processes and make recommendations for automation solutions.

  • Prepare CM technology and process training for users and the ability to deliver the training effectively.

  • Automate the packaging of build deliverables, database deliverables, and other deliverables needed to establish a run-time testing environment into a release package or the skills to perform this task manually.

  • Ability to design a release note standard and template and the ability to write draft release notes per release.

  • Ensures that all changes to the baselines go through appropriate change boards, serve as a member of CCB as required.

  • Minimum 3 years of professional supporting DOD IT projects and initiatives as a project coordinator, project planner, manager, or comparable position. Must have demonstrated programmatic experience with the forecasting, planning, and/or resourcing of projects.

  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience supporting DOD networks (NIPR, SIPR, Coalition, CENTRIXS, or BICES)

  • Minimum 1 year of documenting how to guide, tech docs, processes, and procedures

  • Minimum 1 year of reviewing and updating how to guide, tech docs, processes and procedures

Minimum Qualifications

  • IA Level II  (Security+)
  • Must have technical cert to meet 8570 standard for privileged acess

  • ITIL-Foundations required (must have within 90 days of start)

  • Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experienced with Microsoft Project and ability to develop and maintain project schedules


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or comparable Information Technology (IT) technical subject matter. Additional 6 years of relevant experience may be substituted for this educational requirement.

Security Clearance

  • Secret clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret
