Job Title: Service Transition Engineer


Job Location: Ft. Meade, MD


Security Clearance: TS

Job Responsibilities

  • Applies an enterprise 
    wide set of disciplines for the planning, analysis, design and construction of information systems on an enterprise wide basis or across a major sector of the enterprise.
  • Develops analytical and computational techniques and methodology for problem solutions.
  • Utilizes performance analysis to predict performance trends, and identify unique and systemic performance anomalies.
  • Provides specialized knowledge of systems operations, risk management principals, and leading edge industry technologies to develop enterprise level migration and consolidation plans that result in minimum risk, optimum performance solutions.
  • Interfaces with all levels of IT customer and operations staff. 

Minimum Qualifications

  • 10 years of DOD IT programs experience, preferably National Security Systems
  • ITIL Intermediate
  • Undergraduate degree
  • PMP or DAWIA Level III in Program Management
  • Certifications as a Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) and in Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP)
  • Experience in transition planning and support; service asset and configuration management; change management; service validation and testing; knowledge management.
  • Required: Windows, Cisco Systems, UNIX, and Linux.
  • Desired: Strong UNIX skills and ability to script in Perl, shell, C or C++
  • Must have excellent internet protocol (IP) networking fundamentals and extensive experience in the application of IP protocols
  • Must have in-depth knowledge of and experience with major internet routing protocols, and in-depth knowledge of and experience with major router platforms.
  • Must be a US Citizen


  • Bachelor degree, must be in engineering, computer science, IT management, or the Service Transition Engineer must possess clear, equivalent experience and/or certifications. Masters preferred, master's degree should be in the same fields.
