Job Responsibilities

Provide configuration management planning. Describe provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting, and configuration audits. Regulate the change process so that only approved and validated changes are incorporated into product documents and related software.  apply engineering analytical disciplines to identify, document, and verify the functional, performance, and physical characteristics of systems to control changes and nonconformance and to track actual configurations of systems and platforms. provide and coordinate service configuration documentation with multiple Government customers and other stakeholders in the CENTCOM AOR.  Provide Configuration Management (CM) services to assist the Government with maintaining an accurate account of configuration items (CI) during the lifecycle of DoD and Army managed IT assets. Develop and maintain technical requirements, specifications, and design documents for DoD and Army managed systems within the CENTCOM AOR to support sustainment of a comprehensive and accurate configuration management database (CMDB). The CMDB shall contain DISA-provided DODIN services network and system CM data (to include “baseline data” used in conjunction with the CMDB) to support resource allocation, capacity planning, networks/system modeling, and other planning activities. Ensure any reroute over 24 hours shall be captured in the CMDB, within 8 hours of the 24-hour mark. Analyze the technical impacts of software/hardware maintenance enhancements and/or modifications to system product Baselines. Provide technical support to mitigate any potential impacts.  Document any technical impacts and/or changes to the Baseline and include the updates in the CMDB. Responsible for the maintenance and tailoring of the CM processes, working methods, and tools. Provide CM support of all computer systems, networks, workstations, software development activity, performance tool development, distribution, and applications distribution.


  • Responsible for supervising and directing team of Change and Configuration Management professionals
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for military leadership, providing feedback and recommendations for Change and Configuration Management process and procedures
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions regarding implementation of new standards and procedures for Change and Configuration Management
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • DoD 8570.01 IAT-II Compliant
  • 5 Years of Configuration Management or Change Management experience in a DOD environment
  • 5 Years of Configuration Management or Change Management experience in an enterprise IT environment
  • 5 Years of experience managing IT projects in an DOD environment
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with the following protocols and technologies, to include but not limited to:

  • CMMI Standards
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Remedy ITSM
  • Configuration and Change Management best practices



  • Bachelor's Degree or 10 years of professional experience

Security Clearance

  • Secret
