Job Title:  Cyber Threat Engineer III

 

Job Location: Shaw AFB

 

Security Clearance:  Secret

Job Responsibilities

Design, develop, engineer, and implement solutions to MLS requirements. Collaborate with DOD and federal agency stakeholders to identify and share cyber threat intelligence provided by Department of Homeland Security (DHS), U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team (US-CERT), and other sources.  Provide the following operational support focusing on expert level analysis regarding advanced Persistent Threats (APT), Indicators of Compromise (IOC), and intelligence gathering and sharing with formalized partners. Provide event monitoring/management/configuration of security tools, security incident identification, and recommendation for security incidents. Audit log review and identification of unusual or suspect network behavior. Create custom scripts development and execution to identify host-based indicators of compromise. Implement new detection capabilities and recommendations for improvement of existing security tools. Provide recommendation of remediation activities to secure the source or initial point of access of intrusion. Provide incident management support for cyber security incidents. Filter and classify cyber threat intelligence so that it can be leveraged by operational entities to identify potential indicators of compromise

  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for military leadership, providing feedback and recommendations regarding cyber threats
  • Provide recommendations and suggestions regarding cyber threat solutions
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications

  • DoD 8570.01 IAT-III Compliant
  • 10 Years of IT engineering experience in a DOD environment with at least 5 years in cyber threat intelligence
  • Must be a US Citizen

Desired Qualifications

Demonstrated experience with the following protocols and technologies, to include but not limited to:

 

  • NISPOM 1-301
  • DODD 5240.0
  • DOD Instruction 8500.01 Cybersecurity

Education

  • 10 Years of IT engineering experience in a DOD environment with at least 5 years in cyber threat intelligence

Security Clearance

  • Secret
