    Job Title:  Cyber Security Team Lead

    Job Location:  Ft Meade, MD / Ft Washington, MD

    Security Clearance: Current TS/SCI Eligibility

    Job Responsibilities:

    The Cyber Security Team Lead. The Lead will guide and manage a dynamic, multi-disciplined team responsible for designing, researching, preparing for certification of RMF and CDS packages for complex next generation enterprise IT systems that support of a Department of Defense mission application that supports counter-terrorism directives. This position will lead a Cyber Security team on the leading edge of DoD transformation, going beyond traditional role of scan and report to proactively build and improve the quality and security of the overall design, operations toward a ‘Dev/Sec/Ops’ delivery model. 

     

    Primary Job Functions:

    • Analyzes and defines security requirements for Multilevel Security (MLS) issues.
    • Designs, develops, engineers and implements solutions to MLS requirements.
    • Responsible for the implementation and development of the MLS.
    • Gathers and organizes technical information about an organization's mission goals and needs, existing security products, and ongoing programs in the MLS arena.
    • Performs risk analyses which also includes risk assessment.
    • Provides daily supervision and direction to staff.
    • Provides technical support for secure software development and integration tasks, including reviewing work products for correctness and adhering to the design concept and to user standards.
    • Knowledgeable of Security/Information Assurance (IA) products such as PKI, VPN, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Analyzes and recommends resolution of security/IA problems on the basis of knowledge of the major IA products and services, an understanding of their limitations, and knowledge of the IA disciplines.
    • Primary lead in ensuring the teams’ tracking, updating, and building significant bodies of evidence of the various controls in place for the solution.
    • Establish systems and manage work with various subject matter experts to ensure the Cyber Security Team identifies gaps in the approach and provides effective mitigation strategies and POA&Ms
    • Assess, validate, and apply specialized Cyber Security expertise to all stages of solution development, design, demonstration
    • Assess various operational changes and engineering design changes to determine the impact on the security posture of the solution
    • Reviewing results of various scanning tools, vulnerability assessments, and STIG reviews to determine the systems compliance to various standards
    • Perform other duties as required.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Fifteen years direct experience in the last twenty years in last 20 years
    • A strong baseline understanding of the DOD Risk Management Framework process and a proven ability to; Determine appropriate information types, Determine the systems security categorization, Selected and tailor security control baseline, Assess the security controls 
    • A strong knowledge of RMF policy and Procedures: CNSSI 1253, DODI 8510.01, NIST SP 800-37, NIST SP 800-53, NIST SP 800-60 (Vols. 1 & 2), FIPS 199
    • Analyzes and recommends resolution of security/IA problems on the basis of knowledge of the major IA products and services, an understanding of their limitations, and knowledge of the IA disciplines.
    • Must be a US Citizen with an active TS Clearance with SCI eligibility

    Desired Qualifications:

    • Experience in public cloud, private cloud, or multitenant environments desired
    • Strong familiarity with coalition and multi-national information sharing systems, policies and environments
    • Strong experience working with CDS accreditation organizations and demonstrated ability to deliver effective resolution to CDS objectives throughout the accreditation process
    • Microsoft Windows, VMware, Cisco, or AWS experience and certifications desired

    Education:

    • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Math, Engineering). With at least fifteen years of general experience of which ten years is directly related experience, a degree is not required.
