Job Title:  Telephone Technician II (DRSN)*

Job Location: Qatar

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued TS/SCI clearance

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship required.

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is seeking an experienced Telephone Technician II (DRSN) to support our on-site team based in Qatar.

The Telephone Technician II (DRSN) will maintain continuous operations of the DRSN 24 hours per day/7 days per week/365 days per year (24x7x365) (around-the-clock ).The ideal candidate shall maintain, administer, and install DRSN equipment.support equipment installation, placement, or relocation, including system checkout, test, and maintenance.

Responsibilities include:

  • Operate DRSN switch and associated hardware respectively IAW technical manuals.
  • Start and configure the switch, respond to console messages, execute available diagnostic routines, and monitor system status.
  • Power down and start up system(s): mount and remove disks, cartridges, or tapes; select input/output files; load programs, files, and data base(s); and perform recoveries from machine stops or malfunctions.
  • Perform disk, cartridge, or tape backup of the DRSN switch programming every seven calendar days. When database changes have occurred, backups shall be completed within 24 hours.
  • Perform system/data administration on all equipment and software. The contractor shall accomplish data-base changes per time frames IAW DoD and DISA directives.
  • Perform software functions and translations for any add, move, change, delete, query of a circuit or system data, service order, trouble assistance, records administration, and call usage documentation.
  • Perform minor installations as part of O&M and assist during major installations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Intermediate “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of telecommunications systems or equipment.
  • Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks in support of communications systems or equipment.
  • Intermediate experience in maintenance/troubleshooting telecommunications equipment with the following:
    • Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) Equipment
    • Raytheon secure digital switches
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued TS/SCI clearance

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Certification Requirements:

  • Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M.

    Must have 1 year experience on Raytheon Digital Small Switch DSS-2A or attended the government school at Fort Huachuca on the DSS-2A
