Job Title:  AOR-Wide Engineer*

Job Location: Shaw AFB, SC

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret to TS/SCI clearance

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship required.

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is seeking an experienced AOR-Wide Engineer to support our on-site team at Shaw AFB, SC.The contractor shall engineer, troubleshoot, and optimize theater-level communications systems as well as systems employed in theater. Tasks also consist of researching current and emergent technologies and providing analysis on technical specifications, limitations, potential implementation, and recommended courses of action.

AOR Engineering tasks shall include:

  • Standardize work/projects within A6X to ensure proper C4 project management tools are utilized
  • Direct and lead C4 planning meetings, video- and teleconferences as required
  • Coordinate with SMEs and external agencies as required to develop project plans; brief SMEs, local command, and external agencies as required
  • Produce project timelines and track individual projects to completion while maintaining the status of each
  • Attend meeting and conferences to support all Government A6 contingency, and deliberate plans as required
  • Develop contingency and deliberate C4 planning documents as required, including Annex K and associated appendices for contingency and operational plans as well as TPFDD UTC call out
  • Integrate systems using numerous types of electronic or mechanical components and assure product interoperability.
  • Coordinate project schedules to ensure the efficient usage of available resources.
  • Provide technical advise on complexed multi-layered projects and programs to Government A6X Division and Branch leadership
  • Developed plans of action and schedules for Division and Branch leadership to assist A6 mission priorities are formalized and documented.
  • Travel to installation sites to perform pre-installation surveys and on-site installation management.
  • Analyze and evaluate existing communications networks and infrastructure.
  • Calculate and recommend upgrades or restructuring of equipment or routing to meet emerging requirements.
  • Write detailed engineering project support plans and installation instructions. Establishes goals, and evaluates all project modifications to ensure they meet the desired project operational objectives.
  • Review new equipment to ensure its interoperability with existing products and sustainability for long term maintenance support.
  • Produce project timelines on macro and micro levels and track individual projects to completion while maintaining the status of each.
  • Create project budgets and modify system capabilities to fit within available funds.
  • Research military and commercial equipment by reviewing datasheets, white papers.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years of “hands on” work experience in support of communications electronic systems or equipment.
  • Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, understands Internet Protocol (IP) routing and architecture design and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks.
  • Minimum of six (6) years of engineering experience in the following areas:
    • Information Technology
    • IP Network Design and Architecture Development
    • RF Communication
    • Satellite Communications
    • Telecommunications
    • Tech Control
    • Command & Control (C2) System
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in Military Communication Systems.
  • Must poses and demonstrate functional knowledge of satellite communications terminals; multiplexers; telephone switches; data network routers and switches; network servers; fiber optic and copper cable; and signal/format adapting equipment
  • Utilize multidisciplinary experience to design communications networks from the ground up to include voice, data, radar, and special circuit distribution; create multiplexing schemes to include card selection; physical and logical bandwidth allocation, and off/intra-site connections
  • Design parallel telephone and data networks and their associated cable plant distributions; the expertise to segregate data networks using IP schemes and subnetting; evaluate and design telephone networks; establish dial tables; set precedence and structure communities of interest
  • Calculate radio frequency and public warning siren coverage plots.
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Military Communication Systems
  • Minimum of five (10) years program management support of Military Communication Systems
  • Must have at least 5 years of USAF Staff level management or supervisory experience
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret to TS/SCI clearance

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical/Electronics/Computer Engineering

Certification Requirements:

  • Must meet the certification requirement of DoD 8570.01-M.
