Job Title:  Client Systems Technician*

Job Location: Qatar

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship required.

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is seeking an experienced Client Systems Technician to support our on-site team based in Qatar. The Client Systems Technician will provide Echelon 1 support in order to resolve administrative and technical problems with client/server devices. The contractor shall install, configure, and operate client/server devices.

The candidate shall:

  • Provide client/server support in compliance policies to include:
    • Perform the installation of equipment, connection of peripherals, and the installing/deleting of client level software.
  • Assist unit with client workstation Certification and Acceptance (C&A) process.
  • Provide software application assistance for commonly used office automation applications purchased from standard USAF support contracts. This includes support to standard wireless office automation devices.
  • Assist and provide continuity to the communications squadron’s Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) custodian and Equipment Custodian (EC) Officer.
  • Ensure physical security of unit USAF GIG components.
  • Report security breaches and distribute security information according to AFI 33-138 and local policies. Coordinate support issues with all agencies (e.g., customers, NCC, etc.).
  • Promote user awareness concerning unauthorized or illegal use of computer hardware and software.
  • Perform account and email management, when technically feasible to include create/configure accounts and mailboxes (user, custom), create public/personal private folders, move mailboxes, perform mailbox maintenance, create distribution lists, track messages (concepts –read receipts).
    • Assign, modify, and delete passwords and user privileges according to AFMAN 33-223.
  • Perform directory service support, including maintaining the ability to create directories on shared drives and assign/grant permissions.
  • Provide operations and maintenance on video systems and equipment.
    • Maintain ability to operate VTC systems and equipment.
  • Provide hardware and software support and sustainment support to include:
    • Assist local users with loading, reloading, repairs to operating systems, and production software. Only Government approved software shall be used and supported.
    • Respond to priorities, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair end-user devices and monitor performance of voice, data, and video systems.
    • Assist local users with installation, training, operations, and repair of PCs and other peripheral equipment such as printers, plotters, and scanners.
    • Perform preventive maintenance.
    • Follow local and Government directives for salvaging obsolete hardware and software.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must have one to two years of “hands on” work experience in support of installations, repair, and troubleshooting or maintenance of communications systems or equipment.
  • Must have experience in installing/deleting of client level software.
  • Must have experience in diagnostic and troubleshooting of basic computer workstation. Must have experience in implementing/installing software patches, security fixes, and service release of workstation.
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Education:

  • High School Diploma

Certification Requirements:

  • Positions requires a current DoD 8570 IAT-I certificate (A +, CCNA etc.) 
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate (MCSA) – Windows 10 or newer
