Overview:

Job Title:  Cyber Security Specialist - Intermediate*

Job Location:  Fort Riley, KS

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required. 

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a Cyber Security Specialist to work on-site in Fort Riley, KS.

Duties include:

 

  • Provide comprehensive cyber security support and services to classified and unclassified networks in accordance with (IAW) U.S. Army Regulation 25-1, AR 25-2, applicable DoD, Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), and Army Cyber Command (ARCYBER) guidance daily and based on current cyber threats directed.  
  • Analyze Cybersecurity requirements, develop and implement recommended solutions, and operate and maintain legacy systems and equipment.
  • Ensure application of security patches for commercial products integrated into system design and meet the timelines for the intended operational environment and shall ensure Cybersecurity-enabled products or other compensating security control technologies reduce identified risk to an acceptable level. 
  • Conduct and report inspections, assessments, and security reviews for classified and unclassified networks weekly.
  • Provide compliance assessment reports and analyses derived from the use of government provided scanning tools or checklists for all networks based on current cyber threats.
  • Implement, apply, execute, and enforce Standard Technical Implement Guide (STIG) standards, and processes to achieve uniform quality and a level of consistency throughout all unclassified and classified network device lifecycles by conducting training session and working groups.
  • Provide vulnerability and compliance assessment reports and analyses derived from the use of government provided scanning tools i.e., Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) and DoD Host Based Security System (HBSS) or manual checklists.
  • Provide service support to all networks with full spectrum Cybersecurity processes to ensure the defense and protection of all government and DoD information systems. Cybersecurity Operations Branch supports daily operations, security policies, network accreditation, and compliance to DoD and Army regulations, OPORDs and directives using automated and manual audits. Cybersecurity functions consist of measures that fully support information systems confidentiality, availability, integrity, authentication, and non-repudiation.
  • Participate, review, analyze and report minutes for Configuration Control Boards (CCB) and Configuration Management Boards (CMB), Technical Review Boards (TRB), Technical Engineering Review Boards (TERB).
  • Provide technical support in implementing, applying, executing, and enforcing RMF standards to achieve uniform quality and a level of consistency throughout all unclassified and classified network device lifecycles by maintaining an Authority to Operate Command Cyber Readiness Inspection compliance.
  • Participate in working groups to resolve computer security incidents and vulnerability compliance. Have knowledge of cryptology including encryption algorithms.
  • Monitor, identify, and assess network and system vulnerabilities, requirements, and deficiencies on unclassified and classified networks and report findings and provide results as part of daily operations report and as needed based on newly identified cybersecurity threats.
  • Review trouble tickets assigned to the Cybersecurity Operations Branch generated by an automated system. Provide response and resolution of trouble tickets, or route to proper entity for action for all networks,
  • Perform analysis on network assets and individual users for compliance with Cybersecurity policies, directives and Best Business Practices through the use of Government provided automated tools such as: HBSS, Host Intrusion Prevention Systems (HIPS), Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS), and rogue device detection, proxy servers, NAC and auditing/logging tools and provide compliance status reports.
  • Test, evaluate, verify, and implement approved compliance security policies, configurations, and updates.
  • Ensure IAVA / STIG compliance.
  • Document and report any deviations from approved compliance NAC security policies, configurations, and updates.
  • Provides Information Security Controls and guidelines to nodes and network management systems.
  • Maintains network/system access and password controls.
  • Collates and analyzes audit trail data.
  • Reviews security threats and determines/implements effective countermeasures IAW established policies/regulations/directives.
  • Analyzes network or system changes/reconfigurations for security impacts (performs risk analysis/assessment).
  • Documents security measures policies.
  • Performs functions as required in support of Risk Management Framework (RMF) and the Defense Information Technology Security Certification and Accreditation Program (DITSCAP) and DISAI 630-230-19.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Cyber Defense or Information Assurance for the DOD.
  • Current DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance

  • Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Advanced technical certifications in IA/CND strongly preferred.
  • ITIL-Foundations preferred.

Education:

  • Associates degree in cyber security, computer science, or other relevant technical field strongly preferred.
