Job Title: Cyber Systems Engineer

Job Location: Tampa, FL.

Security Clearance: Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance

Due to the nature of the work and US Government requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a cleared Cyber Systems Engineer to join our team in Tampa, FL.

Duties include:

  • Have fundamental knowledge of Systems Engineering practices, network technologies, system development life-cycles and methodologies, and insight into information technology infrastructure management/monitoring and applications.
  • Identify applicable security requirements, providing guidance to products to meet those requirements and control potential vulnerabilities.
  • Work with product teams to obtain relevant security patches, support testing of patches, and deployment of them to development laboratories and field assets and to report patch level status to the customer.
  • Recommend and implement system enhancements that will improve the performance, reliability, and security of the system including installing, upgrading, monitoring, problem resolution, and configuration.
  • Inspect, test, analyze or demonstrate security features of the products to formally certify security requirements have been properly applied.
  • Support review of design, engineering analysis, and test data to evaluate compliance with system security requirements and adequacy of vulnerability controls.
  • Provide direct technical interaction with other product teams with technical security expertise.
  • Provide analysis, design, development, implementation and security assessments to ensure compliance with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Special Publication (SP) 800-53, CNSSI 1253, DoD RMF Knowledge Service guidance.
  • Apply risk management concepts to mitigate vulnerabilities in system security architectures
  • Design, implement, and test Identity Credentials and Access Management (ICAM) and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), IAW NIST guidelines, DoD policies and directives.
  • Knowledgeable of Security/Information Assurance (IA) products such PKI, VPN, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems. Analyzes and recommends resolution of security/IA problems on the basis of knowledge of the major IA products and services, an understanding of their limitations, and knowledge of the IA disciplines.
  • Assess, validate, and apply specialized Cyber Security expertise to all stages of solution development, design, demonstration
  • Perform other duties as required

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Position requires a minimum of eight (8) years direct experience, in the last ten years
  • Functional knowledge of DoD and Air Force cyber policies and directives.
  • Knowledge of US Government security regulations and methodologies, FISMA, FedRAMP, and NIST special publications.
  • Familiar with Agile development processes.
  • Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

Desired Qualifications:

  • IASAE Level III Certification (CISSP-ISSAP, CISSP-ISSEP).
  • Familiarity with coalition and multi-national information sharing systems, policies, and environments.
  • Experience with the National Cross Domain Strategy Office (NCDSMO) authorization processes, procedures, and directives.
  • Experience in VMware NSX and micro-segmentation
  • Strong familiarity with coalition and multi-national information sharing systems, policies and environments
  • Microsoft Windows, VMware, Cisco, or AWS experience and certifications desired
  • Experience in public cloud, private cloud, or multitenant environments desired


  • Bachelor's Degree in a related discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Network Engineering, Math) experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
