Overview:

Job Title:I/O Cable Plant Engineer

Location: Amman, Jordan

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is actively recruiting for a I/O Cable Plant Engineer to support the AFCENT Communications E&I Support Services II contract. 

The job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform and document site surveys to support fiber optic, copper, and coaxial infrastructure requirements.
  • Create Project Support Agreements (PSAs) to include specification for allied support, other minor construction, or facility upgrades and tools and test equipment requirements.
  • Prepare working engineering project packages for installation teams with installation instructions, sketches, and List of Materials (LOMs).
  • Complete technical solution for the telecommunications and IT upgrades/installations.
  • Analyze technical requirements to support projected mission, technology, infrastructure changes, and recommend capabilities for the new and existing facilities.
  • Engineer the technical solution to meet the AFCENT approved requirements.
  • Specification of tools and test equipment requirements.
  • Brief senior military personnel on plans and/or status of projects.
  • Create and update a continuity book to include location of soft copy information, examples of PSA and project packages, and local POC information.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An Active, in-scope US Government issued Secret Clearance 
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of six (6) years of “hands on” work experience in support of communications electronic systems or equipment.
  • Must have the technical knowledge to solve complex problems, understand the interrelationships of circuits, understands Internet Protocol (IP) routing and architecture design and be able to exercise independent judgment in performing tasks.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in electrical/electronic/computer engineering from an accredited university or completion of one of the of the following certifications: 
    -  Building Industry Consulting Service International BICSI Outside Plant Design 
    -  USAF Engineering & Installation Project Engineering Course 
    -  Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
