Overview:

Job Title:  Unified Capabilities Network Controller

Job Location:  Hill AFB -Ogden, UT

Job Responsibilities:

Our customer, Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), acts as the provider of GIG/Defense Information System Network (DISN) services to its customers, the department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations. This position supports the Unified Capabilities (UC) Desk within DISA’s 24x7 Network Operations Center on Hill Air Force Base, Utah.  Rotating shift work to include nights and weekend duty may be required.

  • Monitors UC capabilities and services (legacy and current offerings): Enterprise Voice over Internet Protocol (EVoIP), Sensitive but Unclassified (SBU) Voice, Enterprise Classified VoIP (ECVoIP), Voice over Secure IP (VoSIP), DoD Enterprise Classified Travel Kit (DECTK), Voice Internet Service Provider(VISP), Global Video Services (GVS), as well as the Defense Switched Network (DSN) and Defense Red Switched Network (DRSN).
  • Identifies and recommends solutions for smooth continuing operation of network as capacity needs change.
  • Makes corrections to network configurations to ensure efficient operation. Monitors and documents network and traffic analysis. 
  • Partner with Engineering team to provide specifications for network architecture, evaluating and recommending new technologies to enhance current capabilities, and performing needs assessments.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Active in-scope US Government Top Secret clearance.
  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship required.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: routers, switches, crypto devices, VoIP, VoSIP, DSN/DRSN, VTC, GVS.
  • Requires competency in one or more of the following devices/vendors: CISCO, Avaya, Nortel, ACME Packet, Oracle, Palo Alto, and Juniper.
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting, configuration, and restoration of services across multiple platforms.
  • Experience in one or more of the following crypto devices: KG-250, KG-175, KIV-7, KIV-19.
  • General understanding of network topologies, both transport and IP.
  • Current DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE, or equivalent) within ninety (90) days of employment.
  • Able to participate in a 24/7 shift work environment, to include working nights and weekends.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Remedy GTMS/ITSM experience is a plus.

  • Network+, CCNA, CCENT, JNCIA are also desirable.

Education:

  • High School Diploma and 2+ yrs of relevant technical experience.
