Overview:

Job Title: OSP/ISP Engineering Support Lead*

Job Location: Chiveres, BE

Job Responsibilities:

The OSP/ISP Engineering Support Lead: This position is contingent upon award.

  • Shall manage and supervise the day-to-day tasking and assignment of OSP/ISP Contractors and assets to projects.
  • Shall be familiar with all aspects of OSP/ISP to include-
    • Electrical: Grounding and bonding, Trenching, Encasements, Enclosure and Conduit, Installation of Rack and STeps, Concrete Caps and encasements, Surface Cuts, Building Entrances, Innerduct, duct seal and firestop materials.
    • OSP: Tracer Wire, Fiber Optic Fusion Splicing, FOC Termination Connectors, FOC Pigtail Cable Assemblies, FOM Case Enclosure.
    • ISP: Copper Horizontal Cabling (Shielded and Unshielded), Cable Routing, Cable Pathway and Raceway, Fiber Optic Distribution Panel, Patch Cables, Copper Patch Cables, Fiber Optic Patch Cables.
    • Testing: Testing of FOC and recording/reporting results.
  • Shall submit accurate and timely reports for all assigned projects, daily Contractor assignments, morning reports, on-hand supply lists, project completion reports, system tests, and any locally generated required to the local communication provider agency.
  • Shall verify documents when integrating capabilities to maintain reliable service.
  • Shall submit, receive, process, coordinate and recommend concurrence or non-concurrence for all digging/excavation permits for all projects concerning or affecting the communications cable plant infrastructure (as required by the Prime Contractor).
  • Shall communicate complex situations to Staff Officers, General Officers, and those unfamiliar with technical concepts or language.
  • Travel up to 35%, This position is to be performed on Chievres, BE and Daumerie, BE. Both locations are within close proximity (less than 10 minutes) to each other. 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Secret clearance.

  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US citizenship is required.

  • Shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience in support of installations, repair, troubleshooting or maintenance of communications electronic systems or equipment.
  • Shall have a minimum of five (5) years experience working with the following:
    • Supervision, management, and direction of Surveyor, Investigators, Draftsman, Logisticians, Technicians and Installers on communication projects.
    • Shall have experience in preparing working engineering project packages for installation teams to include installation instructions, sketches, List of Modification (LOMs), and engineering and program documentation (PSAs).
    • Shall have experience in developing and execution of cutover plans for upgrades/installations of telecommunications and IT infrastructure.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidate will have previously successfully led work similar is scope and scale. 

Education:

  • An associate’s degree or 5 years of recent specialized experience, OR; A major certification plus 5 years of recent specialized experience, OR; 10 years of recent specialized experience.
