Overview:

Job Title:  SATCOM Lead

Job Location: Camp Humphries, South Korea

Job Responsibilities:

Trace Systems is seeking a SATCOM Lead to join our team in Camp Humpries, South Korea. The SATCOM Lead is responsible for the direction, administration, and compliance of the SATCOM posture for USFK. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Manage Satellite Communications SATCOM Subject Matter Expert (SME) support during coalition exercises and day-to-day, contingency, and military operations
  • Maintain operational oversight of all SATCOM activities and resources supporting USFK by conducting reviews of Operation Orders (OPORDs), Operation Plans (OPLANs), Concept of Operation Plans (CONPLANs), and operational architectures.
  • Review and process satellite applications through the Communications Access Request System (CARS)
  • Lead integration of SATCOM elements into J6 networks
  • Coordinate with the Director of Joint Frequency Management Office Korea, U.S. Pacific Command (PACOM) SATCOM, and Regional Satellite Support Center Pacific (RSSC-PAC) to obtain, defend, and renew host nation approval for SATOCM systems
  • Provide and maintain situational awareness of SATCOM systems/network status.
  • Oversee space, control, and terminal segment asset and operational configuration management.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • An active, in-scope US Government issued Current Secret clearance

  • Due to the nature of the work and contract requirements, US Citizenship is required.

  • Experience working at the COCOM or Joint Frequency Management Office (JFMO) level
  • Complete understanding of frequency engineering and SATCOM principles, theories, and concepts.
  • Ability to demonstrate understanding of and provide consultation on a wide range of technical principles, theories, and complex issues.
  • Ability to operate and maintain a Spectrum XXI FRRS Database
  • Knowledge of ACES/JACS software
  • Knowledge of SPEED software
  • Knowledge of RTSO software
  • Ability to process supportability requests through Host Nation Spectrum Worldwide Database Online (HNWDO)

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with CARS and Joint Integrated SATCOM Toll (JIST)

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Information Technology (IT) OR minimum 7 years’ experience and training in Satellite Communications (SATCOM) and Spectrum Management
  • Graduate of one of the following:
    • S. Department of Defense (DoD) military frequency management school
    • Inter-service Radio Frequency Management School (IRFMS) at Keesler AFB
    • Electromagnetic Spectrum Manager Course at Ft. Gordon
